ABOUT

I began by making maps of Shetland from a postage stamp collection I had acquired for crafts. The idea came from my mother, who was fed up with me hording postage stamps! 

The name "Anywhereinabox" began as "Shetlandinabox", which plays on the ban in 2018 of putting Shetland in a box on official maps. Following on from Shetland maps, I created a map of Yorkshire for a friend and the collection grew from there.

I have now created maps of over 30 different countries, 20 different areas within the UK and maps of the world! My maps have been gifted for birthday's, Christmas, father's day, mother's day, thank you's, new baby, new home, new job, anniversaries, wedding's and just because. The maps are all made to order and totally unique, making a fantastic conversation piece in any home.

My aim is to create maps that evoke memories of holidays and travels, bring people together and start conversations of nostalgia. Along with maps, I have also crafted various silhouettes with postage stamps including animals, landmarks, soldiers and guitars! See my gallery for more inspiration.
